The programme featured a broad range of sessions covering market developments, upcoming film releases, operational challenges and opportunities for cinema businesses, providing delegates with valuable insights into the evolving theatrical landscape.
As part of the event, Phil Clapp, Chief Executive of the UK Cinema Association and President of UNIC, Laura Houlgatte CEO of UNIC and Patrick von Sychowski, Cinema expert, joined a panel discussion on the current state and future prospects of cinema exhibition.
The session opened with Patrick presenting key findings from the CNC's recent report Cinema Exhibition: Key Global Trends, which examines developments across cinema markets worldwide.
Building on these insights, the panel explored a range of issues affecting cinema operators today, including audience trends, the outlook for film supply, theatrical exclusivity, changing audience expectations and the opportunities presented by innovation and premium cinema experiences. The discussion also reflected on the resilience of the exhibition sector and the importance of continuing to adapt to evolving audience behaviours while preserving the unique appeal of the theatrical experience.
UNIC would like to thank Peter Fornstam, Former Chair of the Swedish Cinema Association, for the invitation and for organising a successful edition of SBF Kongressdagar.
