UNIC Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme: Get-together at CineEurope and launch of the 8th edition

On 19 June, mentors and mentees of the UNIC Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme met at CineEurope for a session of networking, insightful discussions and experience sharing.

The meeting was moderated by Monica Chadha, Independent Director.

We kicked-off the session with an active networking exercise for mentees and mentors to get to know each other. Following this, the 7th edition of mentors and mentees had the opportunity to share their mentoring experience and best practices. They provided valuable insights on dos and don’ts.

This was followed by a conversation with our inspirational speaker, Helen Moss, SVP International Distribution, Paramount Pictures International, and mentor of the 7th edition, who shared her own successes and challenges as a female leader in the industry.

As always, the session was empowering – and way too short! The new intake will get a chance to introduce themselves and talk more about the year to come in an online group meeting in July.

UNIC also organised drinks on the evening of the same day, this time in partnership with WIE (Women In Exhibition) as a networking occasion for all previous and current editions. The event attracted around 50 female participants.

We already look forward to the next in-person session of the group, which will take place during the UNIC Cinema Days on 24 October 2024. Until then, mentors and mentees of the eighth edition will work on their mentoring goals, have group meetings, and UNIC will be there to facilitate their journey.
