CineEurope 2023 – Schedule of Events

CineEurope, the biggest convention for cinema operators in Europe, Middle East and Africa, will welcome its guests between 19 and 22 June in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain. A sneak peek is available online!

As is tradition, the cinema industry will be in Barcelona in June! A blend of great networking, insightful panels and discussions, studio presentations and screenings, a cutting-edge Trade Show, all in beautiful Barcelona– who can say no to CineEurope?

Together with Film Expo Group, we have prepared an exciting programme that will exceed your expectations! We are delighted to already share some of the highlights of the show with you.

This year’s edition kicks off on Monday with a session on Driving Commercial Success Through People, which will highlight the importance of attracting and retaining staff, diversity and inclusion, and other HR issues, in driving the success of the Big Screen. We can then look forward to a high-level executive roundtable bringing together top leaders from across the cinema landscape to discuss engaging audiences as well as the future of the industry. Later in the week, our friends at The Coca-Cola Company will  delve into retail and sustainability trends.

On Tuesday, the session Piracy Gets Commercial: Are You Ready for the Competition? will be an exploration of emerging commercial models of piracy, their scale, and what can be done to disrupt them. This will be followed by the session on Sustainable Cinema Design which will be looking into developing modular and net zero carbon neighbourhood cinemas through the use of low carbon technologies.

The forward-looking nature of the cinema industry reflects an appetite for innovation that stretches far beyond the screening room itself – on Wednesday, make sure to visit the cutting-edge Trade Show and attend the ICTA sessions! This year’s sessions include What’s next? New technologies transforming the cinema experience, Behind the Screens: Bridging Staff Shortages and Skills Gaps in Cinema and How can cinemas prepare for the next wave of marketing innovations: Social, AI and AR.

Throughout the week, studios and distribution partners will present the best of what they have in store - Lionsgate, Unifrance, Picturehouse Entertainment, Mubi, Sony Pictures International, Universal Pictures International, StudioCanal, Warner Bros. Pictures International, Paramount Pictures International and Walt Disney Studios International will also be presenting at CineEurope.

The preliminary schedule of events is already available online. Have a sneak peek here!
