The UNIC Cinema Days once again served as a meeting point for our community of mentors and mentees, a few months after a first meeting launching the seventh edition of the programme.
The session brought together participants from the current edition and was moderated by Monica Chadha, Independent Director.
After an introduction by Laura Houlgatte, CEO of UNIC, who welcomed everyone and thanked the current sponsors of the programme IMAX and Vista Group, mentors and mentees of the seventh edition exchanged about their mentoring progress and good practices. The meeting was followed by some coaching tips on how to build instant rapport by Monica.
UNIC also invited an inspirational speaker to talk about their leadership style and own path to success. We were delighted to be joined Edna Epelbaum, CEO of Cinevital AG / Cinepel SA / Cinemont SA / Quinnie Ltd and Vice-President of UNIC, who shared her experience and wisdom. It was fascinating to hear about her journey, her learnings, challenges and accomplishments along the way. Q&As followed the interview.
At the end of the meeting, Laure Galtier, Project Manager of UNIC, explained the next steps of the programme, with some suggested mentoring exercises for the mentees, such as job shadowing and switch mentor month, to be carried out early next year. Separate group calls will follow in November and the next informal meeting for participants of all previous and current editions will take place online on 13 December.
All in all it was another inspiring session! The next in-person get-together of the group will take place in June at CineEurope 2024.
