UNIC at NVBF General Assembly

UNIC was pleased to participate in the Dutch Cinema Association's (NVBF) General Assembly, hosted at Vue Houthavens in Amsterdam on 18 June.

The event brought together cinema representatives from across the Netherlands to discuss the latest developments in exhibition and the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

UNIC provided an overview of the current state of the European cinema market, highlighting recent box office and admissions performance across the continent.

The presentation also explored key trends shaping the future of cinema exhibition. These included audience expectations, investments in premium cinema experiences, the importance of a consistent flow of content, and the broader market dynamics influencing cinema-going across Europe.

In addition to market developments, UNIC outlined its ongoing advocacy work on behalf of cinema operators and national cinema associations across Europe. Particular attention was given to several policy areas that remain high on the agenda for the sector, such as the fight against piracy and market consolidation.

More broadly, the presentation highlighted UNIC's engagement on a wide range of European policy issues, including film and audiovisual regulation, sustainability and geoblocking to name a few.

UNIC would like to thank NVBF and Vue Nederland for their warm welcome.
