Organised in partnership with Cinemien and De Morgen, the screening welcomed cinema lovers from across Brussels and beyond to catch a first glimpse of the new film from Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. As the German candidate for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, we were particularly excited this time around and, without giving too much away, it's certainly one not to be missed.
Special thanks must also go to Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education Helga Trüpel for her welcoming words and continued support for European cinemas.
UNIC organises 2 or 3 such screenings per year due to the firm belief that there is no better means of celebrating everything that's great about cinema than the collective experience of watching a film together on the Big Screen. In the past, we've been fortunate enough to have such fantastic films as Samba, A Perfect Day, Our Kind of Traitor, Noces, Borg McEnroe, Django and Nico, 1988, and, with the support of policy makers, industry representatives and film fans all over Brussels, we always aim to showcase the best in European cinema here in the heart of Europe.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the next one in 2019 and we very much hope to see you there!
