UNIC collaborates with a broad range of companies and associations to efficiently monitor and discuss trends and developments in the film sector, exchange expertise and best practices and liaise with other stakeholders to efficiently represent and defend the interests of cinema operators in the global motion picture industry.

 

NATO

The National Association of Theatre Owners is UNIC's sister organisation, representing cinema operators across the US and around the world. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with a second office in North Hollywood, California, NATO represents its members in the heart of the US capital as well as the center of the entertainment industry. From these vantage points, NATO helps exhibition influence federal policy-making and work with movie distributors on all areas of mutual concern, from new technologies to legislation, marketing, and First Amendment issues.

Global Cinema Federation

Launched at CineEurope on 21 June 2017, the Global Cinema Federation is a worldwide grouping intended to inform, educate and advocate for cinema exhibition’s global interests. The GCF was founded by eleven leading cinema operators and the two most internationally-active trade bodies, including UNIC. Between them these companies and organisations have interests in more than 90 territories. Europa Cinemas

Europa Cinemas is the first network of cinemas focusing on European films.

CICAE

The Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d'Art et d'Essai ('CICAE') is a non-profit association aiming at promoting cultural diversity in cinemas and festivals. The CICAE was founded in 1955 by the national arthouse cinema associations of Germany, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland. 

UNIC Partner Programme

UNIC’s Partner of European Cinema Exhibition Programme brings together leading partners and brands in the cinema space to build bridges between the exhibition community and these companies. More information about the programme can be found on our website.

EDCF

The European Digital Cinema Forum ('EDCF') is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation that provides a basis of common understanding across all European territories of the business and technical matters of digital cinema. Established in 2000, before the widespread rollout of digital cinema technology, the EDCF played a key role in facilitating this seismic transition process and minimise any impact on European cinema, as well as putting forward a European point of view of cinema technology within global standards organisations. UNIC stands on the Board of the EDCF and is actively involved in its working groups on cinema technology, including the SMPTE-DCP rollout project group.

ICTA

The International Cinema Technology Association ('ICTA') is a global network of professionals in the motion picture industry. Members of the ICTA are those companies that manufacture, service and create the equipment that goes into movie theatres. The ICTA promotes technological advancements in the motion picture industry through educational seminars and programs.

ISDCF

The Intersociety Digital Cinema Forum ('ISDCF') is a US-based organisation which provides a forum to discuss issues related to digital cinema. They have over 250 members representing Studios, Exhibitors, Integrators, Equipment Manufacturers, Consultants, and other committees. 

CTC

Cinema Technology Community CIC (CTC), is an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation that aims to advance the use of technology to enhance all aspects of the movie-going experience. ​ With over 900 members in more than 85 countries, CTC's members represent all facets of the film industry; from film distributors to cinema exhibitors, integrators, manufacturers, journalists and thought leaders. CTC's membership community is united by a shared passion for technology and the cinematic experience. CTC provides various global initiatives aimed at educating and up-skilling CTC's members in current and emerging cinema technologies. Such initiatives include hosting training courses and supporting professional certification, providing technical and educational resources such as handbooks, webinars and seminars, video content, podcasts and networking events.
