Policy Partners

UNIC manages the exhibition sector’s relations with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. It also represents cinemas’ interests when dealing with other international bodies. We are a member of several coalitions and industry associations. Please find below a list of our main policy partners.

Industry coalitions

Creativity Works!

The Creativity Works! coalition was established by UNIC and our partners from across the cultural and creative sectors to share real stories and facts concerning the work of artists, creative professionals and their business partners, including, of course, cinema operators. A core objective of the coalition is to showcase how copyright contributes to cultural diversity, employment and community development across Europe.

Audiovisual Coalition

UNIC is a proud member of the informal AV Coalition, which brings together organisations working across the audiovisual sector in Europe, representing film and TV directors, screenwriters, performers and other creators, skilled professionals, producers, distributors and publishers of film and television content, and cinema operators. The AV Coalition acts on behalf of individuals and entities from across the entire value chain involved in developing, creating, producing, financing, marketing and distributing films and television content in Europe. It is highly representative of a sector of vital importance to economic growth and job creation as well as a crucial contributor to cultural diversity in the EU.

The Global Cinema Federation

The Global Cinema Federation (GCF) is a volunteer-based federation established to represent the global cinema exhibition community and to advocate to global stakeholders on its behalf. The GCF seeks to increase industry effectiveness by providing input to international regulatory bodies and to contribute more effectively to international dialogue on issues of common interest.

Netopia

Netopia is a web publication and idea forum based in Brussels. Netopia runs a website, publishes reports and arranges events with the purpose of stimulating the discussion on the future of the internet. Netopia has several supporters, including UNIC, that contribute by subscribing to the manifesto.
