UNIC and its partners from the film industry were pleased to meet with MEP Nela Riehl (DE, Greens), Chair of the European Parliament Culture Committee, to discuss the future of the MEDIA Programme, in view of the recent European Commission’s proposed AgoraEU. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on the importance of supporting European film and cinemas, fostering cultural diversity and innovation, and ensuring that the sector continues to thrive.
Participants highlighted the role of films and cinemas in bringing European stories to audiences and the need for the programme to reflect the sector’s unique needs. UNIC looks forward to continuing the dialogue.
