UNIC at the New Cinema Conference

UNIC recently attended the New Cinema Conference organised by NVBF (the Dutch Cinema Association) which took place from 30-31 October at the EYE Filmmuseum, Amsterdam.

The conference kicked-off with a comprehensive presentation from Patrick Von Sychowski on "The (new) A to Z of Global Cinema: From Alibaba to Zoo Palast" followed by a fascinating session on sustainability, blockchain and merging online and offline worlds.

On the second day, Jan Runge delivered an insightful presentation on the "Bigger Picture" and moderated a panel on audience insights and engagement - UNIC CEO Laura Houlgatte took part in the panel and presented the results of the UNIC study on young audiences (UK, ES, DE and PL). The following panel focused on "Diversifying the Cinema Experience" and involved Edna Epelbaum (CEO of Cinevital, Cinepel, Cinemont, Quinnie; President of the Swiss Cinema Operators' Association; Vice-President of UNIC) and Eric Meyniel (International Content Director, Kinepolis). The afternoon was dedicated to "Investment and Growth," "Film Disruptors" and "Buzz or Businesses." Please find the full programme here

Huge congratulations to our Dutch colleagues for a great event - for a more detailed report, please contact the UNIC office.
