TELL US ABOUT YOUR DAILY HABITS THAT KEEP YOU INSPIRED AND MOTIVATED.
I like to stay busy and keep my day full—no room for boring moments. I try to focus on one thing at a time and give it its moment, even if it’s quick. Most days, I treat work as something fun, not a burden—and that shift in mindset really makes a difference. I do my best not to let stress or negativity take over. Instead, I try to approach everything with a clear head and a positive attitude. I’m probably about to give some really bad advice, but here it goes: my routine includes going to bed really late because my days always feel too short.
LOOKING BACK AT YOUR CAREER JOURNEY, WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
Being able to support and grow with the people around me. Whether it’s helping someone develop their skills, building strong working relationships, or contributing to a positive team culture, those moments have always meant the most to me. I’ve learned that success really comes from collaboration and I’m grateful to have been part of this with so many great people. I’ve also really enjoyed taking on big challenges—those moments when a situation feels complex or uncertain. Finding a good solution in those cases, especially with a team, has always brought a real sense of satisfaction.
WHAT WERE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU ENCOUNTERED THROUGHOUT YOUR LEADERSHIP JOURNEY? DID YOU HAVE ANY MENTORS ALONG THE WAY?
One of the biggest challenges was working in a company whose values didn’t align with mine. The culture prioritised individual agendas over collaboration, which made it difficult to foster teamwork and shared goals. I put a lot of effort into promoting a more collaborative approach, but ultimately, I had to accept that meaningful change wasn’t possible at that time. Choosing to leave was difficult, but it was the right decision—because no matter how strong your desire to make a difference may be, sometimes you have to lay down your arms.
I did work with a coach for a short period, who helped me recognise the value of my achievements and develop my self-confidence. That support was important during a challenging phase of my career.
GIVEN THE DEMANDS OF YOUR ROLE, HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR WORK AND PERSONAL LIFE?
I don’t strictly separate work and personal life; for me, they often mingle. Rather than trying to keep them completely apart, I focus on creating balance by being present and intentional in both areas. I make sure to prioritise time for family, rest, and activities I enjoy, even if it means blending them with work moments. This approach helps me stay energised and engaged, both professionally and personally.
WITH OVER 20 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS HOLDING WOMEN BACK, AND WHAT DO YOU THINK NEEDS TO CHANGE FOR BETTER REPRESENTATION AND INCLUSION?
I believe one of the challenges holding women back is partly internal—we sometimes underestimate our own ambition or limit ourselves, often because we juggle multiple roles like caring for our families alongside our careers and may feel these responsibilities are incompatible with professional advancement. Leadership roles, unfortunately, are still often seen as incompatible with taking care of children and similar responsibilities. In reality, they are not, but this mindset can influence how we pursue leadership positions.
Additionally, we operate in a professional world still largely shaped by men, with different—and often unspoken—rules. To improve representation and inclusion, workplaces need to genuinely—not just on paper—recognise these realities, offer more flexibility, and actively support diverse leadership styles and life choices. Ultimately, success comes down to talent—not the number of hours worked.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
I actually try to think of myself as my younger self all the time—I guess I don’t really notice I’m aging! If I could give my younger self some advice, it would be to embrace every stage of life, stay curious, and keep growing. Trying new things, even those outside my comfort zone, is exciting and helps me keep moving forward.
