UNIC screening of Triangle of Sadness on 11 October

UNIC organised a private screening of the European co-production Triangle of Sadness at the Palace cinema in Brussels on 11 October.

The event brought together a range of policymakers and stakeholders from the European film sector and offered a unique opportunity to meet in person and enjoy a fantastic film on the Big Screen.

Triangle of Sadness is a French, German, Swedish, British and US co-production. Directed by Swedish director Ruben Östlund, it was awarded this year's Palme d'Or in Cannes - the second for the director, who previously won it The Square.

Laura Houlgatte, UNIC CEO, introduced the film and shared a few words on the value of cinema and on the importance of territoriality. She also highlighted challenges faced by exhibitors in the current economic context, while praising the success of the many national cinema days that have been organised across the region in recent weeks - demonstrating the relevance of the Big Screen for audiences of all ages.

Triangle of Sadness is a satirical dark comedy, which tells the story of successful models Carl and Yaya and other super-rich passengers invited on a luxury cruise. At first, all appears Instagrammable. But a storm is brewing, and heavy seasickness hits the passengers during the seven-course captain’s dinner.

The screening could not have taken place without the support of September Film, as well as the Palace cinema who kindly hosted us for the evening.

Looking forward to our next screening!
