UNIC was delighted to participate in the third edition of the Belgian “Film Sector Day” held on 25 March 2025 at Kinepolis Brussels. The event brought together exhibitors and distributors to discuss the current state of Belgian cinema and the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The day began with a welcome coffee and networking session, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect and engage with their peers. This was followed by a short introduction from Alain De Greef, Secretary General of Film Matters, and Thierry Laermans, Secretary General of the Federation of Belgian Cinemas (FCB), who set the stage for the day's discussions.

The morning session featured several insightful presentations. The session concluded with a thought-provoking talk by Patrick von Sychowski from CinemaNext/European Digital Cinema Forum (EDCF), who shared his reflections on the future of AI and innovations in the film sector.

After a networking lunch, the afternoon session commenced with presentations by Bruno Plantin-Carrenard, CEO of UGC Belgium, and Philippe Adam-Leenaerdt, Director of Business Development & Exhibitor Partnerships at Brightfish. The afternoon session concluded with a debate on "Reviving the appetite for Cinema" led by Égérie Research, with contributions from young professionals who offered fresh perspectives on engaging audiences and fostering a love for cinema.
