UNIC is involved in many industry events across Europe and globally, from the Cannes Film Festival to the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas. We also host the UNIC Cinema Days every year in Brussels to discuss recent trends and developments in the industry, and participate in a wide range of similar events organised by our partners. KVIFF | 29 June - 7 July 2018
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic. It is one of the oldest A-list film festivals (i.e., non-specialised festivals with a competition for feature-length fiction films), a category it shares with the festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, Moscow, Montreal, Shanghai and Tokyo. Among filmmakers, buyers, distributors, sales agents, and journalists, KVIFF is considered one of the most prestigious film event in Central and Eastern Europe.
Venice International Film Festival | 29 August - 8 September 2018
The 75th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia, and will take place at Venice Lido from 29 August to 8 September 2018. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association). The European Commission's Film Forum will take place during the Festival.
FNCF Congress | 24-27 September 2018
The French National Cinema Federation (FNCF) congress takes place every year in Deauville, France. This event is the largest get-together of French cinema operators and serves as an opportunity for them to network and hear about the latest trends, developments and upcoming films.
European Art Cinema Day | 14 October 2018
CICAE and Europa Cinemas have teamed up with more than 600 cinemas across the European Union to present a curated program including previews, children’s films and historical classics. With a wide variety of guests, events and exhibitions, the program will be as diverse as European Art Cinema itself. More information available on artcinemaday.org
UNIC Cinema Days | 15-16 October 2018
Each year in Brussels, the UNIC Cinema Days welcome an exclusive group of senior executives and key figures from across the European and international cinema landscape for an exciting two days of debates, workshops and social activities. The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for our members and partners to discuss the latest trends in the ever-changing cinema business in a trusted and informal environment and away from the distractions of a large industry convention. PÖFF | 16 November - 2 December 2018
Black Nights Film Festival (PÕFF – Pimedate Ööde Filmifestival) aims to present a comprehensive selection of world cinema to Estonian, Baltic and North European audiences. The 22nd edition of Black Nights Film Festival will take place from 16 November to 2 December 2018 in Tallinn and Tartu. The European Commission will organise a Film Forum during the Festival.
European Film Forum in Brussels | December 2018
The European Film Forum initiated by the European Commission in 2014 provides a space for a structured dialogue between the Commission and stakeholders in the audiovisual sector. The European Film Forum opened 2015 in Berlin and events were and are held at important European Film Festivals and industry gatherings like Cannes, Sarajevo, Venice, San Sebastian and MIPCOM. We will soon be able to share more information about the upcoming edition of the Film Forum taking place in Brussels in December 2018.
CineAsia | 10-13 December 2018
CineAsia continues to be the best and most effective way to network and do business with theatre owners, managers, buyers, and operators from all over Asia. At CineAsia, attendees will get the chance to hear about the current trends and new state-of-the-art technologies in the motion picture industry. CineAsia 2018 will take place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on December 10-13.
CinemaCon | 1-4 April 2019
CinemaCon is the Official Convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners ('NATO'). Since taking its first step in 2011, CinemaCon has evolved and grown to become one of the largest and most important gatherings for the worldwide motion picture theater industry. CinemaCon is truly a global event attracting attendees from more than 80 countries. The 2019 edition of CinemaCon will return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from 1-4 April 2019.
Festival de Cannes | May 2019
The International Festival de Cannes is one of the world's most widely publicised events and certainly the most important film festival in terms of worldwide impact. UNIC will be in Cannes to attend the European Commission's Film Forum, Europa Cinemas' Conference, the European Audiovisual Observatory's Conference and many other industry events. UNIC will also partner the European Commission's EU Film Contest, which offers the opportunity to a group of young Europeans to attend the Festival and meet with professionals from the film industry, including cinema operators. CineEurope | 17-20 June 2019
CineEurope is the official convention of UNIC and the biggest and longest-running convention dedicated to cinema operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Each summer, cinema owners, international film business professionals and key industry suppliers gather in the beautiful city of Barcelona to network and discover the latest industry trends. CineEurope features exclusive screenings and product presentations of upcoming films from both Hollywood studios and independent European film companies, sponsored events, timely and informative seminars and a cutting-edge trade show.
